-3- The Empress
Character: Aradia Megido
What it symbolizes: Motherly protection, age and wisdom, feminine, life
Reasons: Aradia Megido, how can it be that a dead character can evoke the pleasures of life’s magnificence. First let us look into her name, Aradia itself is a character in witch folklore who represents femininity and mother earth(a few traits of the Empress Arcana) and Megido is the name of the area where the end will take place, the end of the earth (her death). Her name is a literal translation of her character, the dead empress.
To look deep into her character we must study all her incarnations: when she was alive, her death, her possession, and her ascension. Due for time and length I’ll merely be scratching the surface. When she was alive it was obvious that she was among the most liked of the trolls and one can say she was filled with life acting out on archaeology, role playing, watching films etc. All things Empress, she is connected to those around her.
After her death her actions change to the reversed Empress. Having lost all aspects of life she merely floats around not caring about anything nor caring for the events that would be bestowed about her, this and having her “0_0” icons, a symbol of apathy. Not even destroying the very temples she used to study moved her.
Upon possessing her robot body, with a brand new heart and breath, it is too much for her to handle leading her to do things in another variation of the reversed Empress, doing things on whim. She is more than living life, she is exhausting it. It isn’t until she reaches God Tier that her actions seem to revert to normal, doing anything she can to protect those she has learned to care about even going as far as not liking the Beta Kids for ruining their session (keeping her friends in the game longer than they had to).
Example: When they’re about “win” the game and Jack attacks, Aradia saves all of her friends and leaves her many alternate selves to fight him (to no avail).
(I will be doing one character for every Arcana [in order]. I have been thinking about this for a long time and it’s been a very enjoyable task to do)
